I believe you're right, at least if you're very much extremist in how you look at people of a differing viewpoint than your own. If people are willing to drag themself as low as starting to name call someone solely based on their politics I doubt I got any values to share with them. I've seen plenty of these people around here. I can be friends with people of different political viewpoints, but respecting each other as an individual will be common.
