That struggle is far too real!! Both of my kids have ADHD and arent meditated because of the side effects that come with them. Theyre both really great kids, but sometimes I feel like banging my head against a wall. Ive found that seeing a counselor for impulse control has worked well, along with a few extra things weve found over the years. My daughter (14 yrs) has a notebook with her EVERYWHERE she goes and can be found doodling in it even during class. Of course it always starts as a thing, but that's when she gets the upper hand by proving shes paying attention still. They let it go after that. My son 10 yrs) has been a little harder. For him its kinda boiled down to rewarding good behavior versus punishment for bad behavior. I put them both in MMA too. Its given them an outlet for all that energy and theyre worked HARD after a particularly bad, long and stressful day! Turns out theyre actually really good at it too.

Envious that you’re finding a system that works. We’ve tried a number of techniques / tools over the years with meh results 😅 Hard to get Sam to really care about anything for me to offer rewards and they are indifferent to punishments. That kid is too damn adaptive lol @that1funnyblonde

@WhateverWorks Mom guilt is a thing and hard AF to ignore, but you're doing an absolutely phenomenal job if you feel like you're not!!!

Wow. I read your posts and always think to myself "this is such a strong person". You're doing so well. Even if it doesn't seem like it to you some days. I hope you can gift yourself some you-time. It's so important especially so you can keep functioning in the long run, it helps the entire family. Parents need self-care.

That’s very kind of you. I’m trying. 💜 definitely not superwoman over here though haha @assemblingaknob
That sounds exhausting for you both. How old is your daughter?

@Notladylike My daughter is 14, almost 15. Diagnosed at 6 when she was in Kindergarten.
