I think when you live an unconventional way of life, you are bound to run into a lot of resistance. Not all of it is intentional, much resistance is subtle and almost never spoken.

You can feel them shrinking themselves in an attempt to protect against a realization of unfulfillment . They don't want to acknowledge wanting to be more. Sometimes because of that need to protect we end up attacking.

It is fear more than indifference and also the resentment of seeing someone else enjoy the life you wish you had the courage to.

Learning to live with that resistance coming at me from all around, only reassures me I’m doing the best thing for my child and I. People knock us down and I relentlessly get back up with more love and acceptance in my heart. I create my joy from ashes while others taunt us for our creativity and resilience.

I know I’m alright when I look people in the eye and they look away. Anyone who won’t face me, won’t face themselves and I just wish them well on their journey.
