Maybe it doesn't have to be. How about invite people you like who you know would enjoy your cooking? Give yourself a good time. Turn things around. It's always an option you can try.

@SW-User Then who doesn't love to receive free cakes/pastries? :) If people can't come, package them and give them as surprise gifts maybe.
I like to bake too. I have only been baking recently but from my family's reaction, I think I do it well. I enjoy it better when I know people will like it.
Sometimes, even seeing a stranger get their fill out of what I make brings out a smile. It makes the labor worth the while.
