Is it better to have a busy life or to pick and choose how busy you want to be?

Good luck with that. The amount of control I have over how busy I am usually depends on a bunch of factors beyond my control. Consequently my contingency plans tend to be very extensive. And that's just for if we invite someone over for supper.
