About the hug 🤗 emoji

It's so twisted. It's like something shitty happens and you want to send a compassionate hug with understanding about the situation and the only option is this smiling one. It looks almost cynical, unrelatable, especially if the other is sad. We need a hug emoji that's more appropriate for comforting situations.

The sad one isn't any better. Only because there's a pattern of it being used in contexts where it isn't even necessary. I could be sharing something as trivial as a casual walk on a sunny day and suddenly have half of SW rushing to hold my hand, sob and sing kumbaya. It makes me feel like I should be traumatised in situations that don't even warrant that reaction.
