🥳 Grateful for small ‘getting out of poverty’ wins that’ve been years in the making.
I used to have lousy credit. Eventually I built it up. All excited, a few years ago I applied for a ‘fancy rewards’ card, but I still wasn’t ‘good enough’ 😞 .— 🎉 Today as I get creative on how to save money, I applied again and got approved for an even better one 🥳
I’m also grateful that I have the savings to take advantage of sales when they happen. I don’t think enough middle-class+ people really understand how hard it is to break free of that vicious cycle when despite being frugal, you don’t have enough money to save money. I remember not that long ago when it didn’t even matter if there was a ‘big sale’ because I only had enough in my account to buy one roll of toilet paper. Or when I only had just enough to buy the cheapest option of everything, a shelf, a washing machine. Even though I knew it would probably break soon after and I’d be back here buying another cheap pos in just a couple years I couldn’t afford the better quality thing.
So.. every time I can afford to save money ‘in the long run’ I’m grateful.
