I have trouble enjoying my free time because I'm always worried about the next day.

What about when I was a kid and I got off school and I may as well have just been free forever, because I didn't care? What happened to that?
Kids don’t have the responsibilities we have as adults. Jobs, bills, taxes, dating, social status…all that becomes muscle memory and leads to a stress we never knew as kids. So even in your free time all of that still lingers like a bad fart in your mind

@stratosranger Even when I'm just shooting the shit?
It’s similar to PTSD in a way. You can’t just go from high stress situations into total chill mode. The adult brain just isn’t that flexible. It is possible with meditation and breathing techniques. Or a joint. But the latter can lead to other problems. @SinlessOnslaught

@stratosranger Good point.

Why are you worried tho?

@Melpomene Just stressing over getting places on time. Like, I need to relax and have fun NOW while I still can. Which is an oxymoron.

@SinlessOnslaught Thinking while I still can is fueling your stress. Maybe try reshaping that thought, i.e. [I can relax until [time] when I'll have to do X?
If you know how much something takes, you'll know when to start going to get on time.

Ordering yourself to relax and have fun NOW will just make you more frustrated. Try to relax and not do anything. Just be present in the moment. It's inevitable to think of the future but don't forget life is happening here and now and you're the one building it. What kind of life do you want to make?
