This calls to mind a memory with my father when I was about five. We were walking down Market St., just off the streetcar headed to Woolworth’s for Sunday brunch, when we passed by the remains of a pigeon, struck by a car. Pop kind of tried to shield me, but I’d already seen it and said, "poor bird."
Pop agreed and murmured, mostly to himself,
"How do you get hit by a car when you can fly ?"

@BittersweetPotato exactly! The only way it can get better is if people would stop trying to eat us, but other than that, potato life is perfect.
