God can transform a broken life, in a heartbeat!
He will do this for anyone who desires to change and wants His saving grace---no matter what you have done or how you have lived on the fringes. He turns no one away.
Jesus Christ went to the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well. She did not come to Him first. He had to go through Samaria to meet her. She was an outcast living on the fringes of society, scorned, ridiculed and rejected because of her heritage and the life choices she had made. Throughout her life she had used empty, meaningless relationships to fulfill her destructive search for meaning.
One visit from Jesus…one conversation with Him, changed her forever. The Samaritan woman didn’t know Jesus, before He came to her; she only knew OF Him. Nor did she know that what He offered was what she had been searching for, to counter an empty existence. Jesus went to her when she needed Him the most. (Just like He did me.) Though tired, hot and thirsty, He came to her and revealed Himself. And she never lived with an empty heart again. I can testify to that, as well, as He did the same for me...49 yrs. ago, and I still feel restored and whole from His love, care, and guidance.
Notice the woman didn't have to "do better" or "get her life right", before Jesus would accept her. He knew of her sins, but loved her, anyway. And just as He never turned her away, He never turns any away, who want Him as their Savior.
God gave us a conscience, so we would automatically be aware of our Creator, and our being/Spirit always longs to have fellowship with Him, and dwells in us, for that reason. There's only one thing that can fill that spiritual spot that is void in us. Fellowship with our Maker.
No matter what possessions we have here, our Spirit still needs connection with God's own Spirit. God's Spirit, is that which fills that void, for "something more". There are no substitutions, try as you may. When your Spirit is restless and depressed, feeling lost and confused, it is seeking and longing for satisfaction that can come only from fellowshiping with Jesus' Spirit. I wonder how long, until you make that connection. It is done, the second you wish to embrace God, his forgiveness which cleanses your soul, then receive His Holy Spirit of promise.
When you are welcomed into God's family, He seals you with His Holy Spirit of promise, that dwells with you forever and guides you. It is a Seal which cannot be broken. The Holy Spirit, himself, IS that Seal, representing a finished transaction, ownership, and His promise to save you. You also receive the gift of salvation and eternal life in heaven. How blessed and honored we are, that Jesus loves and wants us as His own, and regards us as His most precious.
