Feeling accomplished… i’m excited and nervous

Hopped on Google maps to get a feel for what will be my new town/neighborhood soon. Feeling excited about how many things are in walking distance or easy to bus to. It’s a blind person thing.

Deep breaths. Everything will be better than ok.

I’ve lived in the same apartment for over a decade and this city for a few years longer than that. It was an enchanting town for a while there. Even though this city along with my block is going down hill fast and I am enthused about the new house,
it’s still a bit scary to leave what I know behind.
—I think everyone goes through that to some extent when they make a big move, but not many of those people need to worry about if they’ll be able to cross streets when they get there 😅🫣

It’ll be good though.. I reached out on some Facebook groups to get to know a few other parents in the area. Try to make it so that my kid can enter middle school knowing a few people already. Might ask one of my classmates out to coffee to get to know someone from my cohort . Lots of necessities are nearby along with things that will be fun to do and it’s a safe town. Good for the whole family.

I did something very similar before I moved from the coast to the interior, I love google maps! I “walked” arounfd this town a lot before moving and it’s funny because I’ll drive past a house or other landmark and remember it from before I moved up here.

Good luck with your move, sounds like you have a solid plan for settling in. 🤗
