I think I want to end my life

There is no point to it any more. I hurt and people don’t take me seriously

You might be robbing your future self of a very cool life. Have trust that you can turn it around.

I think you might be being a little hard on yourself and your impact on others.

@Maskeytheeagle I think that's a reasonably common feeling. Somebody else was saying this on here the other day. I know my own son is feeling it.

You should know that you're perfectly fine, valuable and worthwhile just as you are. You don't have to actually 'achieve' anything

My nan was fired from work when she was married. And she was a suburban housewife. Not particularly rich.

I found out after she died two old schoolfriends of my aunt, both male, had never lost contact with her and visited her in the nursing home before she died - which I can tell you was an experience only someone who really loved her would go through.

I realised then that my career, my degrees were really pretty shallow next to that. I want to be loved as much as she was.

But even there I have to acknowledge that I'm a different person in a different time living a different experience

And I will never be loved like she was

But my inherent worth as a person isn't any less

You have for whatever reason been given this life - even if it is just a quirk of chance and evolution.

It is your life. It is your gift. It is your canvas. It is for you to determine what to make of it and what will give it the most value to you.

That might be sitting there and going hell man there are aspects of this that are actually pretty cool

We are hopeless at always comparing and measuring ourselves to others - but the truth is we, and our conditions, are utterly unique

When we look at others we usually aren't looking through an unbiased lens - often it is a self - critical lens

The thing is - we don't have to buy into that script of comparing and measuring and finding we've pulled up short

We get to write our own scripts

We don't have to use the one picked up at the dollar store that's already been used by a million other people

😊

I really hope you find some peace

And find things that'll lift your spirits

I hope that you'll be gentle with yourself

And I hope you realise you're perfectly fine and worthy, exactly as you are right now
