Jesus said to love. Not to love, only if the conditions are right.

I think people need to reevaluate what it means to love and help people.

Especially the church.

"I saw a need, and I helped."

This goes both ways. Sometimes a person desperately needs help, but they let the sin of pride stop them from accepting help or asking for it, and so they receive no blessings or help. And the very sad thing is, they cut off the blessing God wanted to give them, and they don't have any place they feel they can turn.

The church really needs to redefine itself. Some churches are good, but some are not and they need to really take a look at this and put love into action in their mission. And instead of "GO FUND ME" on Facebook, them and the church need to call it "LOVE IN ACTION". Put love to their prayers and for people, and then action.

I called the church a long time ago, as I was alone and had no money to hire a mechanic, and so I picked a church at random out of the phone book, to see which church would live and love according to their claim. I said to the pastor, "Would you happen to have a person in the church who knows how to just look at my car and see if they can get it started for me?" What a simple request. I never asked for money; nothing but help. I did not have a church home at that time. But I called for help and you know what the pastor said to me? "I'm sorry, ma'am. We can't help you. We only help members of the church." And I know why he said that, because people do take advantage, but they can always check these people out to make sure they're not scamming them. But when we see anyone in need of help, whether it be a homeless person, a widow, or friend, Jesus would not want us to turn them away. How sad. Jesus said, " I was hungry, and you fed me not. I was homeless, and you didn't see me. You only looked at me as you passed by, in disgust. I was in prison and in need of a friend, and you weren't there."

How very sad. And so I thanked the pastor, although I felt like giving him a sermon, because I'm sure Jesus wouldn't have turned me away, whether I belonged to His group or not!

And I hung up the phone and I sat there in my chair and I said, "God... send somebody from that church to help me. I'm just believing and am going to sit here and wait for the call. Ten minutes later the pastor called back and says, "We've got a member here, who's going to come by and look at your car. I think he felt guilty and he very well should have. My God! We need to reevaluate what "help" and love others, means!

The guy came by and he fixed my car in a heartbeat and we became great friends, and I encouraged him, and later he felt called to be a pastor and today he's the greatest Pastor I know of and really allows the Holy Spirit to lead him in what to say in his sermons. God bless you, Pastor Kevin Cox. I love you and I'll never forget you.

Can we say that A human in need is a human indeed?
