The call for prayers five times a day

IDK why every time I hear the prayers call I remember my mother :(

I've always disliked the sound of the call...I can't wait to live in Canada where I can't hear it...

I'm suffering from that in Turkey but at least all prayers are silent unlike Egypt.

@BittersweetPotato There's a difference in mazhabs. In Turkey there's one azan only and the 5 prayers are silent. Egypt there's an azan then ikama then loud or public? prayers to I think 3 prayers a day if I remember correctly. I think your country is same as Egypt ?

Here the azan is loud, but we don't hear the ikama.. I think only in juma we hear the ikama and sometimes the khotba, but then what do I know, most of the time I have my headphones on 🤣

@BittersweetPotato Noooooo focus Potato 😅 5 azans, each one consists of 1 call for prayer, nothing more.
In Egypt 5 azans, each one consists of 1 call for prayer and 5 minutes later a shorter version of the azan then loud prayer (except zuhr and asr, also 2 azans but silent prayer).

When you say shorter version of the prayer, you mean the Ikama?

Over here we are like Turkey, only the call is loud.. and there has been a time when even the call was made silent, but unfortunately, they went back to loud calls, I think many people complained when it was silenced... but I think they wanted to make it silent because they care about western expats.

@PiecingBabyFaceTogether It is funny that al Azhar has been displayed for sooooo long as the moderate Islam, when they are in fact preaching all sorts of bs in their books and are against any efforts to modernize. Islam.

Yes they care so much about their image which is why many liberal laws have been passed recently and I am expecting more soon.

@BittersweetPotato Moderate Islam is huge hoax and a rubber expression. It works as an excuse to justify anything. Again it's just an image thing so that the world thinks they are all cute and peaceful and when you ask them about killing infidels and calling minorities infidels all you hear is nothing that makes real sense. If they are for real they can cancel these parts but they don't have the guts. They must keep the rotting ship sailing.
