It is inevitable to disagree with everyone on something. No matter what our enemy is trying to accomplish by keeping us in disagreement...he can be defeated if we stay united in love.

@Walea Wise words. Political ideologies are never spiritual. Pounding away on a key board for truth, justice, and the American way is not spiritual. Our motto is,
Less government, more responsibility, and — with God’s help — a better world.
yet it is hard to be spiritual with the kind of resistance these beliefs provoke.
Walea · 41-45, F
@Oberon1 I humbly disagree with you about politics not being spiritual. I believe all things important that affect lives is indeed a spiritual matter.
Oberon1 · 61-69, M
@Walea I understand what you are saying, but I have yet to see a political debate that I could call spiritual.
I realize the spirit is all and in all, it just seems like political conversations quickly become carnal.

I know we won't be perfect, but I feel the whole idea is to learn from mistakes we all have and try not to repeat them. I think it would help, if when we feel ourselves getting angry, just step away, think about it, cool off, then come back. Words that hurt, can't be taken back, and you're right about why we get upset, but if we can think before we act, even when hurt, hopefully, we won't want to retaliate.
@Oberon1 The spirit fights the flesh, every day.

@LadyGrace I know you are very familiar with these verses. I shamefully saw them as a "loop hole" for many years. They are, like all the verses in the bible, worthy of deep and prayerful study. The depraved nature of us all is an intense and profound thing to consider.
14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.

16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.

17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.

22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

@Oberon1 Yep. Very familiar. Paul had a difficult time, at times, fighting the flesh. Basically he's saying, "I try to do good, but then find myself doing just the opposite!" He's telling us he knows what it is to constantly battle the flesh. We really have to be on our spiritual guard.

Always great to start with a clean slate like that.

If the division we have now continues, there is no way this nation will survive, much less, succeed.

Well spoken. I agree 100%.

I have noticed you voicing these sentiments before and I respect you all the more for it

Unfortunately I think with the scale of doublethink, grievance mining and absurdity - society is doomed

I cannot bring myself to wish people who've willingly self- lobotomised anything thing other than a swift push over a cliff
Oberon1 · 61-69, M
@SW-User I understand. When I see my country and its principles being demolished I have no choice but to lash out against it. I loved and respected traditional liberals. We all owe a debt of gratitude to traditional liberals. They fought for things that we all benefit from. These cultural revolutionaries are vicious, and nothing like liberals. They are much more fascist than liberal. Like ANTIFA. These idiots are confused fascist thugs.

@Oberon1 I'm more of an old school leftist myself, but ffs gen X and proud
