It's illegal here -- I think the law was written because the legislators were afraid people's bare feet would slip off the pedals.

@MethDozer You're right. I double-checked and it's not illegal here, but I found a comment from a lawyer that says in the case of an accident driving barefoot can be used against you as a possible cause. Interesting.

@ChipmunkErnie Yeah I know. It's ironic too because its common for race car drivers to go barefoot because it it gives better tactile feel ergo control and response times .
