What kind of stupid stuff did you do as a child?

• My room was messy, but everything was a project of some kind. For example, the Jack's bag beside my bed was for a mouse. It would eat fries while I was in bed. It made me feel less afraid to be alone.

• When my mother would vacuum the house, I would get down on my hands and knees and bark at the vacuum. I can still see her facial expression to this day. It was the look of defeat and sadness.

• I would spend hours outside setting up toy soldiers, then shoot them with a BB gun. I would also set them on fire. I made all the sound effects, such as people screaming and explosions.

• I was the kid who dropped his pants all the way to the ground to use the urinal.

I tried to find doors to other dimensions. 😅
@SW-User Apparently you need to get really high to find one.

@HUNT5M4N I gave a speech in D.A.R.E. It would never have happened. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh yeah. I can add that speech to the list of dumb things. 😂

@SW-User Aw...like Beetlejuice? :)

@SW-User Exactly. 🙂

@SW-User I almost have a blackout recollection [oxoymoron...but you know what I mean] / experience with Beetlejuice. Being a sensitive kid I don't know if someone teased me the first time I saw it [at six] and during the resurrection/marriage in their wedding clothes scene...

I dunno if a family member was making fun of me and saying that was gonna happen to me or 'they' were gonna get me but I didn't like it. I felt bad for the married couple played by Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis [hubba hubba sexy tall thing with a jawline and lips to die for] but all I remember is standing in the other room bawling my eyes out!

I have no recollection of the in between which never happens with me. Must've been my The White Ribbon moment.

@SW-User Aw. That’s sad and hilarious. But what kind of weirdo says that to a kid? 😅 I mean, it would be scary. They were dying again in that scene. 😕

It’s cool that you got what inspired the search for my childhood self though. I figured most people would assume Narnia. 🙂

@SW-User Weirdos who espouse the virtues of Space God without ever really committing to the Christian way. 🤣

Nah not Narnia [although I thought that was really cool and imaginative too; a talking lion? Yesss.]. Beetlejuice always! To the degree that if I have a daughter she will carry the middle name of Lydia or Barbara. Possible Senora [have to check the spelling on it]. Adam for a son. This is all dependent on charming whoever the hell my future wife is so she agrees to all my demands as man of the house because I give her good lovin'. 🤣

Yeah Adam and Barbara were dying all over again and I felt sorry for them and very sad.

Beetlejuice is kinda just so...girly. I am basically half girl.*

*Not in a trans way or anything which would make life much more complicated I'm sure, on a basic existential level....I was just around women/girls more growing up. Plus reasonably sensitive to begin with.

@SW-User Senora would be fun. ⭐️
I guess the whole plot was more of things that appear in girl movies. Beetlejuice wouldn’t do well in a guy movie.
SW-User
@SW-User Yeah kinda lol never really hit me before now but also it was before everything was put into neat little categories and focus groups dictating things a little too much [they can be useful though]. Wish they would make more nuts films still. There is still room for experimentation. Some mad bastard will make it into the industry I'm sure, and call a few key shots to prove this in due course.

Another Bob Evans of Paramount type figure would be appreciated. I think Blumhouse tries but kinda hedges its bets a little or aims low of what it could realistically accomplish. Netflix just greenlights anything. Not the same thing y'know? And their budgets/cinematography can really suck unless it is AAA tier i.e. Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul or Stranger Things.
