More reading material?

Getting ready for church this AM when some lady put a book in my mail box. I retrieved it and discovered it was an anti catholic screed written by Ellen G White the false prophetess of Seventh Day Adventist fame. Hard pass. I will use it to start my fire pit once the fire bans are lifted.

Ooooh, don't Christians / Ancient Hebrew followers love sectarianism?

:-)

Are the Seventh Day lot aka the Jehovah's Witnesses?

I had local reps from the latter call about three times before they realised they were not going to convert me.
I was not rude to them, as some might be. That's not my style and it would demean me, not them.

They tried to give me their glossy leaflets but I declined.

"Anyway," I added "I'm from a loosely Anglican background and if I felt I needed religion I'd go to its church up the road!"

@ArishMell The SDA have only recently been called Christian and that only because they finally agreed with the Christian definition of the Trinity. Their practices are not Christian in any way shape or form as they try to keep the law as opposed to being dead to the law. We Christians believe that the Law was fulfilled on the Cross of Christ and thus we are no longer under that law. The SDA disagree and try to keep the law thus their strict adherence to the Sabbath (Saturday).

@hippyjoe1955 Thank you. That's why I added the "/Ancient Hebrew" bit.

Christianity developed its own theology but is still based on the foundations from about 5 centuries or so previously of what we know now, and already was in Jesus' own society and time, as Judaism.
