Am I the only person who took NO TRIPS as a child?

This came up in conversation today and the person was very shocked that I hadn't anywhere as a kid and not many places in my own state.

Not all families could afford family vacations.

Then when I was an adult, working PT and going to school, I didn't have the money nor was able to take time off.

My first job out of college allowed very minimal time off and was super strict.

Then I had more money, plenty of time off, and no one to go anywhere with...

Nope. My mother was raising 4 kids on her own and she couldn't afford it. As a kid we did go to Marine world. When she had a function at work we went because it was free, water slides. I remember being so bored during the summers as a kid. I never even cared about going to disney land because I knew that would never happen. But as a mother I definitely want my kids to experience fun things as a family.

@Sunflower2021 exactly. Never thought about Disney either. Knee it wasn't possible. Same, my kids will definitely experience life outside of 1 city, if I ever have any

@iamnikki I think it's important for kids to experience things outside of your home and even the park. It does get pricey but with time trips can happen.

@Sunflower2021 yep. I only went a few cities over, but it was just to visit a relative. All we did there was go to Walmart.
