Am I the only person who keeps trying to help solve other people's problem even when nobody is trying to help me?

That's the way it works sometimes. It's how it works for me too.
And the reason is I don't ask for help. I handle my own stuff and don't like dumping my problems on others. Some people feel differently. And some just like the attention.
From where I'm standing you're in the better position. But I guess it depends on how you look at it.
