Acceptable for women is colours any colour but not entirely white
For men, white is cool - white 'dhoti'(loin-dress) & white 'punjabi/kurta' (longish shirt) were de rigour (equivalent of tuxedo & bow-tie) even a few decades ago, now men wear colours.
Bottom line is it needs to be ornamental, gorgeous, jazzy or even royalist. But not sober, or business suit not 'formal' but festive.
Women will wear their latest jewellery, mostly gold and more.
Just a little bit of cleavage is okay,but not too much LoL
Huge spread in food - over spiced, over eating, wasteful.
