Filing for dissolution when living in separate states
If I filed for a dissolution and sent him the paper work could he just sign and both of us not have to appear in court?

It depends on the state in which you reside, but if you aren't asking the court to distribute any assets and you have no kids, you wouldn't likely need to appear in court.
