I'm sorry for your loss. My Dad passed almost 3 years ago and his funeral was 2 days before my birthday, so I understand a little about events being forever linked.

Allow yourself time to grieve in the way you need to - people will tell you to be strong, but they aren't you and don't always know what's best for you.

Above all, keep talking and be kind to yourself

I'm sorry for your loss, man. I lost my father almost 10 years ago. He too was sick and suffering in the final years of his life, and whenever I start to miss him it makes me feel better knowing that he is in heaven where he is no longer suffering.

Take care of yourself, and don't feel guilty. I don't think our loved ones want us to stop living when they get sick. I'm sure he was very proud of you.
