What do you currently do for a living?

I've in my second year of teaching Human Services, at a local community college. It was a lot more fun until the pandemic happened. Now the campus has been dead, and I all I do now is sit in my office on the computer most of the day...oh well, right? I still have a job so I won't complain.

I am a PhD candidate and I work as a T.A.
@SW-User Which subject? What is your research question?
SW-User
@SomeMichGuy Linguistics. My research topic is related to language change, specifically whether the loss of inflection is universal and/or unidirectional. I'm exploring a number of contemporary languages and how they are changing (including English) as well as looking at historical changes.
@SW-User Ok, now THAT is interesting.

Hmmm...are you aware of Historical Outlines of English Sounds and Inflections by Samuel Moore (of Univ. of Mich.), rev'd by Albert H. Marckwardt (of Princeton)...?
