I'm assuming that you are a woman???
It's a common practice to overlook women who are about to marry because they assume that she will soon be starting a family and seeking maternity leave.

@HootyTheNightOwl I saw this post from somewhere and yes the post was from a woman. I am a female too but looking at it objectively, I understand where the company is coming, tbh if I was the recruiter, I would probably look for someone else too and not because of the maternity leave issue but rather, even as a woman, who is also an employee, I don't understand why someone would apply for a job while they are very close and planning for a wedding. Why not get on with it then apply for a job? For me it sounded like you ask people to take chances on you then leave them hanging without even caring about how they feel about it. I've been handling people and training staff and I understad how critical the first 6months of an employee on a company is, if you go on a break during this time, specially a long one, chances are you will forget most (if not all) the trainings that you've gone through and that would be extra job for the team, extra cost for the employer and a lot of wasted efforts from the trainers. So honestly, I posted this because I want to know how other's look at it. I might be missing something.
