I hate when people say "your fingers are long, do you play piano"?

But they aren't long, I can't even reach an octave without touching the key prior to the octave.
I have always wanted to play piano but its frustrating when you cant play octaves. Yet folks seem to think you'd be GREAT at piano because you have what they think are long fingers🙄😔🎹

Yes, I do know you can drop the octave when playing something like a chord, but when all that's going on in on one hand is the octaves itself, it won't sound good, if you know what I mean.
