Not the day it should have been

Today I woke at 6am in my bed in my house just like virtually any other day. However I shouldn't have been there.

I should have been waking in a hotel room in an isolated venue in North Wales on the outskirts of Snowdonia. Today was to have been my son's wedding. However some months ago it got cancelled as the dates got closer for them to pay up additional amounts etc. In retrospect given the delay in being permitted to hold wedding receptions of any kind etc it was the right decision.

However it is a melancholy day today thinking of what might/should have been.

In the grand scheme it is a small inconvenience considering those who have lost members of their family too early to the virus, to those that are out of work due to the economic fallout and to those whose lives have been turned upside down by it like nurses etc and indeed my son's fiancée who is immune compromised and therefore has to be extra vigilant and careful.

My son and his fiancée are going away today for a weekend break in the country not far from us so they replace the what wasn't memory with some what was ones.

Ah no. As great a party as it would have been, imagine how much more special it will be

@RubySoo sorry to have ruined your plans to sneak a look on a drive by lol

It'll probably be in London and smaller now when it does happen.
