Lets make a fair trade:

I'll pretend your mask is protecting you.
You pretend I am wearing one.
We will both be happy.

Let's make another one, you play on the train tracks and I pretend not to see you :)

@G00GLE Let me guess you have no idea how small a virus actually is. Too Funny!!! Sadly they don't teach kids how to run a tape measure any longer.
G00GLE · 22-25, M
@hippyjoe1955 You don't exhale the virus. You exhale droplets that the virus attaches to :)
But let me guess, you are worried about your fReEdOm
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@G00GLE Actually you exhale the virus. Nice of you to show your ignorance. Even mask manufactures tell you that masks do not prevent viral infections. The N95 mask stops 95% of a particulates 100 times bigger than the virus.
G00GLE · 22-25, M
@hippyjoe1955
not prevent viral infections
No one claims they do? We all (except lunatics and sociopaths) agreed that masks DECREASE the risk of infection.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@G00GLE So if they are ineffective in preventing a viral infection what is the purpose in wearing them. Covid is a viral infection and you just said masks don't prevent them. Hmmmmm Thank you for making my point.
G00GLE · 22-25, M
@hippyjoe1955
Breathing doesn't prevent you from dying, but it does decrease the chance of dying. Maybe you should stop breathing too?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@G00GLE Except there is no reliable study that masks have any effect on decreasing the possibility of getting a viral infection. There is lots of evidence saying you will get sick from the mold and mildew that builds up on the inside of your mask should you wear a mask for any length of time.
G00GLE · 22-25, M
@hippyjoe1955 Ummm... You're supposed to wash the re-usable masks or yeet the regular surgical ones...

You one of these people that don't was their clothes? :?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@G00GLE So how many masks do you wear in a day? The mask manufacturers say you should change them often (20 minutes to 4 hours) depending on the mask and the environment you are in.
G00GLE · 22-25, M
@hippyjoe1955 I go grocery shopping once a week for about 30 minutes. Otherwise I work from home or in my office, in which I am alone.

I have surgical masks in my office for when I have to interact with people, and a regular cloth mask with replaceable filters for grocery shopping.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@G00GLE Good for you. I am out and about all the time. Many of the people I come in contact with don't have the best personal hygiene. I walked a mile to the grocery store about an hour ago. I didn't wear a mask. I didn't use hand sanitizer. I did my grocery shopping, chatted with the pretty girl behind the plexiglass and walked home again. I said hi to about 6 neighbors along the way. None of us were wearing masks. I took a crew to a worksite early this morning. They have been there about a month. No one on the site has worn a mask that I have seen including my crew.
G00GLE · 22-25, M
@hippyjoe1955 I hope you enjoy being a risk to other people! :D
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@G00GLE How am I a risk. I don't have the virus.
G00GLE · 22-25, M
@hippyjoe1955 Most people are asymptomatic carriers.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@G00GLE Most people will never get the disease. Much hype over nothing. Easily treated if contracted. Easily prevented with the right treatments. Masks do not work.
G00GLE · 22-25, M
@hippyjoe1955 Keep being stupid bro! 👌
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@G00GLE The only stupid on this thread are the ones wanting to wear masks. Have fun pretending you are safe. 😂😂😂😂
G00GLE · 22-25, M
@hippyjoe1955 Again, nobody says that masks keep us safe. They keep us safer. Yanno like other safety equipment does.

And I think you don't know that we're wearing masks to protect others, not ourselves.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@G00GLE So you think that masks don't keep the individual safe but keeps the herd safe...... Does that even make sense?
G00GLE · 22-25, M
@hippyjoe1955 😱 how can you arrive at a logical conclusion while being stupid?
This is what herd immunity, for example is about. Doesn't matter if one person is immune to any one sickness, if most people are still viable carries it's gonna fuck the many.
If many people are immune, there are less viable carries and the spread is reduced immensely.

Same with masks, the more people wear masks, the less spread.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@G00GLE So logically there are individuals. Individuals are groups or herds. You tell me that a mask does not prevent an individual from getting a viral infection but somehow it prevents the group or herd from getting the disease. Care to elaborate on how that works? I understand immunity but that comes from people coming in contact with the disease not people who never come into contact with it. Let's say on Easter Island there are people who never leave or come to the island. They will not come down with covid because they are isolated. However that does not mean they are immune to the disease. If the disease is introduced to the island the same ratio of people will die from it as any other place where people are exposed to the virus.
G00GLE · 22-25, M
@hippyjoe1955
You tell me that a mask does not prevent an individual from getting a viral infection but somehow it prevents the group or herd from getting the disease.
No? It decreases the spread of a disease. Singular people will still get infected, but with potentially lower viral load, as well as less people in general.
However that does not mean they are immune to the disease.
I never claimed that masks make people immune. I used immunity as an example for how masks are helping decrease spread of a disease.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@G00GLE Obviously if it doesn't prevent anyone from getting the disease it doesn't stop the spread. It may prolong the spread but the spread will happen masks or no masks. That is simple math. The virus is not going to magically disappear. Effective vaccines are not going to be developed since the virus mutates. The only way to have herd immunity to have people exposed to the disease and let them recover. Treat as required. 15 years ago it was conclusively shown that HQC and zinc are effect treatments for covid like diseases. Lets use them. Mask simply don't work either way.
G00GLE · 22-25, M
@hippyjoe1955
it doesn't stop the spread
Never said they did.
It may prolong the spread
The word you are looking for is "decrease"
Effective vaccines
The common flu is a Coronavirus. We got vaccines for that.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@G00GLE No the word I used is Prolong and it is the correct word for any disease. The flu vaccines are not effective and some have speculated that the flu vaccine has killed more people than covid. I looked at the stats and where I live the flu deaths have significantly increased every year even as vaccines become more readily available. Some years the increase is greater than others but every year for the last 15 years has shown a year over year death rate increase.
