Do long distance relationships work?

Top | New | Old
It’s very difficult to make them work in the long term unless you can meet up in real life reasonably often. If that doesn’t happen, the odds are stacked against you. I’ve seen many people in online relationships who think theirs is a special case and they’ll overturn the odds but sooner or later their relationships always come to an end.
@Number5 ok yes just end it now 😉. Seriously though, I’ve seen it many times over, and experienced it personally myself too, you really need to be able to meet reasonably regularly to give it a chance of being sustainable in the long term.

I think if both individuals are seriously committed to each other, it could work. Both individuals need to be willing to put in the efforts on their ends and work together on finding ways to meet up.

They can. It just takes a lot of work... Like most relationships

@TopOfTheWorld coz she won't either
I don't wanna look like the bad guy who broke up
@Number5 sounds like you’re a bit stuck then but just be aware not to stay in an unfulfilling relationship while life passes you by.

@MartinTheFirst I think they don't
With great difficulty. Mine lead to marriage but my government forced it to remain LD for 2 more years!

My husband and I began our relationship long distance. It isn’t easy and just like other relationships there’s no guarantees it’ll work.
