Drunks don't realize what they are doing, They think they are being amusing and clever. They are not. I grew up with alcoholism for my first twenty years and it was curses, abuse, thrown and broken stuff, things said that never should have been uttered and never apologized for.
I won't attend any more school reunions since the night one of my former classmates stood up and related the story of an accident I had in the first grade. Sure, he was reeling drunk - and my God, that was over six decades ago! Everybody who heard him roared. I wanted to die then and there.
