Is this mean?

I've worked at my job for 9 months. I still have a coworker who incorrectly pronounces my name.

I told him " I really think you do this on purpose. I've been here 9 months. You should know my name."

He claims it's not on purpose but it's just not common and that he's never met anyone with my name.

I said " yes you have met someone with my name. You met me 9 months ago so you should know my name. I'll call you Cameron ( not his name) until you learn my name"

Is that mean?

I mean, if you TRULY cannot pronounce a person's name, then why keep butchering it? Why not just say hey girl, or a simple good morning?

How many people have you met who couldn't pronounce it? I have a pretty normal name but people always butcher it, not because they're being mean or trying to get my attention,it's mainly because they don't use it often or we don't talk a lot. If you hardly speak to him then he won't get much practice saying it right. Instead of being aggressive about it and making him feel embarrassed, help him to pronounce it properly. At the moment I doubt he will really want to use your name at all...

@Beautifullyderanged I've helped and corrected him several times . Upon first hearing it, several people, usually older ones, mess it up. After about the 3rd time, they say it correctly .

I'm not being aggressive, I'm being assertive. You don't know me so I don't expect you to know the difference.

He's heard my name, and said my name at several team meetings.

@Beautifullyderanged he says it right one minute, then says it wrong the next minute. Says it right the next day he sees me, then says it wrong at 2pm.
