Is this mean?

I've worked at my job for 9 months. I still have a coworker who incorrectly pronounces my name.

I told him " I really think you do this on purpose. I've been here 9 months. You should know my name."

He claims it's not on purpose but it's just not common and that he's never met anyone with my name.

I said " yes you have met someone with my name. You met me 9 months ago so you should know my name. I'll call you Cameron ( not his name) until you learn my name"

Is that mean?

I mean, if you TRULY cannot pronounce a person's name, then why keep butchering it? Why not just say hey girl, or a simple good morning?

So, I think this strongly depends on your name...and how far off he is. There is no excuse to not try, but there are some names that are just beyond me. Not many, but some.
