why do girls/women lie and say they have a boyfriend why not just tell the truth and tell the guy that you're aren't interested or we can be friends?

Sometimes even after telling them you have a man they still say " save my number in your phone...under a girl's name" like, even a boyfriend doesn't matter.

When I say " I have a boyfriend" it will cancel any possible aggressive reactions. And still I've heard " what does that have to do with me/I dont care. Ppl can't handle the simply telling them truth, a no.
