I was very, very young. Honestly, I was never anywhere near as troubled by the idea of death as I was by the idea of Hell. Legit kept me up at night as a youngin.

@BlueVeins Wow. Same. I’ve known about death ever since I can remember because of church. I used to be so terrified of hell and the devil.

@KristinaM I don't really understand how religious people cope with it. As much as I was scared of going to Hell myself (and I was an obedient fucking kid), I couldn't really deal with the idea of anyone else going to Hell either. Like, eternal torture is so far beyond the pale of what I can process, I can't even.

@BlueVeins growing up without religion I was pretty scared of there being nothing at all.

@BlueVeins Exactly. I believed that you burn forever. It’s terrifying.

@MrMonnyPenny When I ditched religion, the whole no afterlife thing was kind of a relief for me.

@BlueVeins I’ve accepted it now - it’s about making a positive impact during your life and seeing how far the ripples go on for after you’ve gone.

Like king Alfred said, “it’s always been my wish to live honourably and after my death to leave to those who come after my memory in good works”
