There will be no United States as known in our lifetime . And I mean NO United States literally. Pre-Civil War we were "These" United States after the Civil War we were "The" United States.. Soon it will be an evolutionary free-for-all and only the fittest will survive... I recommend buying a gun.

Everyone in my house has and is proficient with a glock and a pump shotgun with extra shell or slug capacity and we stock various ammunition for both. Everyone has the exact same weapons for ease of use and not having to stock too many types of ammunition. We all go to the range together regularly. Hopefully none will be needed however it would be horrible to need and not have. @GERRI
