Did y'all ever do stuff when you were kids that genuinely was just childish fun, but would be totally different now that we're grown?

When I was little, one of my favorite games was "guess my parents". A better name would have been "guess my race", but "parents" was how six year olds put it lol. And I loved it because I'd always win. The little red head girl? Imma guess Ireland or Scotland. The girl speaking fluent Spanish? Easy. But then they'd get to me. And I knew I'd win because nobody's going to guess Native American, African, Mexican and Scottish. But as we got older, we realized "oh, maybe assuming that girl is Mexican because she has brown skin ISN'T okay". But we spent many many recesses playing that game up until we were about eight or nine, and then some white girl ( a sweetheart really) got to me and was like um .... I'm only going to guess for the white people. And oh ok 😂

Growing up my friend group was almost entirely made up of boys. I was always with my best friend, who was a boy, and my cousin, also a boy. So I would hang out with their friends. So my birthday party was all boys, aside from me and some family. And we decided to take off our shirts in the yard and tie them together to try and make a rope long enough to reach the bottom branch of a tree so we could climb it, so my mom comes out and I'm just standing shirtless with a bunch of boys and she had no idea what was going on lol.

@AmmieBell Jake ruins everything lol. Ollie would have taken care of it if anything was actually wrong anyway lmao
AmmieBell · 18-21, F
@Lucyy honestly lol. Ollie's been fighting people for me for as long as I can remember lol. Even when I didn't want him to.

We played that TOO, we just didn't have a name for it haha. It would be random. We'd all be bored and someone would just be like "guess where my family came from" and we'd all start guessing. We got chewed out by a teacher though because some girl started crying because nobody believed her when she said she was African and we called her a liar (she was white as hell, but apparently her white parents had actually grown up and met in Africa and then moved to the USA. So they actually WERE from Africa, she just wasn't the type of African we were trying to guess for). So that got shut down for us in first grade

@SavannahMay "ah yes, you're THAAAAAT kind of African" lol

We used to play marriage with other kids. We married and get pregnant ( we put pillows in our shirts), have children (teddy bears). It was hilarious. As we grow up, we don't see ourselves as a kid anymore. Well, those memories really awkward when we barely talk to each other now.

@Lucyy OOOOOHHH NOOOOOO 😂💀
Lucyy · 22-25, F
@AmmieBell good news is, I'm engaged to him, so I can call him either one now and we can just laugh and it ain't awkward lmao
Lucyy · 22-25, F
@AmmieBell but I cringe thinking of all the teachers and parents who overheard

Spin the bottle. I played it a lot with my friends when I was 7-10. When we played it again at 16 it was a totally different game.
Lucyy · 22-25, F
@SW-User I remember playing that too lol. But it was basically with all girls, and we'd just kiss eachother on the cheek and laugh after. It would have been different if we played it with boys though I'm sure
SW-User
@Lucyy It was an all girls play for us too.

A childhood friend and I use to put beach balls under our clothes to act like we were pregnant. lol, good times.
AmmieBell · 18-21, F
@SW-User we did too lol. We'd go back and forth between "fat" and "Santa" and "pregnant" though lol
