What is masculinity to you?

Is there a basic, standard definition of masculinity? In this day an age do you think that masculine representation is important?

'course it is! Ya can't just decide that the innate characteristics of half the population are no longer required. This shit is why depression & suicide has increased.

@SevenTierCrazyCake What are these innate characteristics that half the population are depressed and suiciding because they can't express ? The only thing the other half objects to is sexual assault.
@bijouxbroussard oh for God sake! Everything is an attack to you like isn't it.

So men can't be unhappy, or struggle with mental illness, in fact how very dare they becauae woman have been raped!

The unkindness in that is just disgusting.
@SevenTierCrazyCake I asked a question. Still waiting for an answer.
What are these "innate characteristics" that half the population are depressed and suiciding because they can't express ?
@bijouxbroussard You know you're doing it too. Lol!

Why don't you ask the men that question? They'd be able to tell you their individual experiences. That would make more sense, don't you think? Except if you didn't actually give a fuck. That's the only reason you wouldn't.
@SevenTierCrazyCake You made a statement. I asked a question about your assertions, because I thought perhaps you had some insights to share. I didn't insult you, so frankly I don't understand the hostility. I've done nothing to you.
@bijouxbroussard You made it about yourself. Or about women in geveral. That is not what the question asker asked.

But you always do this. It's distasteful & I'm just not in the mood for this bollocks right now.

You said that women only object to sexusl assault implying that men don't object to that, & that only women are assaulted. Which I said is disgusting simply because it is.

Ask men why they struggle. Open yourself up to someone outside your own agenda.
@SevenTierCrazyCake I did ask the male poster who said something similar. I didn't make it about me. You made a statement and I asked a question about it. Which you still haven't answered, btw. Obviously you have a perspective and I asked what you were referring to as "innate characteristics" that you believe not being able to express are causing men to be depressed and suicidal.
@bijouxbroussard one young man I know was bullied by, spat on & stabbed in the left shoulder by a group of girls at his school for his height & build. Appatently this made him intimidating.

& yes I know there are girls who are built like linebackers but thats not normal.

Now please do fuck off 😁👍
@SevenTierCrazyCake You’re being nasty and hostile because what you’re describing now has nothing to do with the initial statement you made, and you know it. I’ve tried to be patient and give you a certain amount of respect, speak to you like an adult. But you don’t deserve it. As for the last—right back at you. Feel free to block me.
@bijouxbroussard how is height & large build not a characteristic associated with the masculine?

I had you blocked on Ep, forgot to here. But I'm certainly not going to do it because you tell me to. Lol!
@SevenTierCrazyCake Innate characteristics you said. Had you explained that, I would’ve agreed that prejudices about size and height are unfair.
@bijouxbroussard implying that men should shut up about their mental health becauae women are still getting assaulted & that's more important is also unfair.
@SevenTierCrazyCake I didn’t imply. You inferred and went straight into attack mode, which was unfair. You originally stated that half the population had some “innate characteristics” that weren’t required, causing them to suffer from depression and suicide. I merely asked what those “innate characteristics” were and after great nastiness the only thing you can produce is someone being abused because of their size and height, which most people (including me) would agree is unfair. But not all men are experiencing that specific issue.
@bijouxbroussard that's a fact. & not all woman are assaulted. But you brought that up in a way that IMPLIED that men don't get assaulted, don't care about assault, are the only purpatrators of assault.

I got pissy because of your ultra extra double feminist attitude. Its tiresome. You're tiresome.

If you hadn't have added that bit on the end you would've found a warmer response. But acting like women's issues are more important or more worthy of consideration is appalling & you should be ashamed of yourself & somewhere deep deep deep down you know it!
@SevenTierCrazyCake I’m not ashamed one bit. Feminism is about equality and I’ve debated just as many women who think they deserve breaks because they’re female, and who trash men as “effeminate” because they don’t live up to some macho ideal the women have. I’m still waiting for those “innate characteristics” that are specific to all men but are supposedly no longer required.

@SevenTierCrazyCake you're such a twat.
@bijouxbroussard from a personal viewpoint this reads like you think to be male is better than to be female. You don't seem in any way interested in admitting that the males & females are different (with obvious overlap because people are people) & that there's nothing wrong with that.

Do you have a complex about what's between your legs & that's why you behave this way?

It's okay to be female y'know. We're just as good as men. You don't need to put them on a pedastal. As I said earlier people are just people.
@MissLlyn & you're a child. What would you kbow about anything. Lol!

Last I checked my ID I'm an adult. 🤣
@MissLlyn Oh that's just cringe inducing. 😂 That's it sweetheart, you're all growed up *ruffles your hair*
@SevenTierCrazyCake See, that’s you projecting again. Maybe you should figure out how you feel about things before you attempt to read other folks’ minds. Possibly then you can explain, coherently, what you actually meant when you said:
Ya can’t just decide that the innate characteristics of half the population are no longer required. That is why depression and suicide has increased.
To be fair, I did assume you were speaking of the male half, since the OP’s question was about masculinity. But perhaps you meant the female half and I misunderstood you. That would be rather funny. 😄
MissLlyn · 26-30, F
@SevenTierCrazyCake How is it cringe telling you the definition of what a child is, when I am in fact not a child that you claimed I was. Hmmm. 🤔
@bijouxbroussard initially I meant half of society. Ball park figure. Leaning towards male of course because of the question. But overlap exists in everything. But to be honest I jumped to a conclusion that the other half you were referring to was female, knowing that you're a feminist.

A friend of mine is the first female ever to do her job in the British army. No wallflower, yet tiny & sweet. That's bloody fantastic. Male dominiated unit & all that. A guy I know is a nanny. He loves his job. They both love their jobs.

But you cannot deny that there are traits that are predominantly male or female. It would be insane to try to deny that. If you set fifty men & fifty woman down & asked to check the boxes of words that described them the answers if each sex would likely run along certain lines, with obvious overlap & occasional variation. We are different. Neither being better than the other, just different. To exalt one sex over the other is wrong & to stamp your feet & insist that anything they can do we can do better is entirely unnecessary.
@MissLlyn you woke up on your eighteenth birthday knowing all there was to know?

Only someone who was as yet not mentally developed would believe that's how it works.
