Meat Eaters - Self Harvest

I came to my attention recently that most people have never harvested their own meat. Whether through hunting or farming, have you ever killed and butchered your own meat?

Please share your opinions (I know you will) and experiences.

We have a few places that I can buy meat from - they are called SUPERMARKETS.

@MarmeeMarch Nice. Where does the meat come from? You know before it's put in the meat case?
@kyredhead Gee - I dont know.................................. a farm ?

@MarmeeMarch The "I don't know" is accurate. You also don't know how it was raised, killed, when it was killed, how it was handled or stored. Just saying, you really can't be sure what you are eating.
@kyredhead Hmm - So I am supposed to know all of that ? "How it was raised " ? LOL 😂
OK so when it says that it is beef or pork or lamb - I am suppose to disregard it and think that it is - Whale blubber - Rat Lips and Buffalo Dicks......
Better look under your bed - the government might be bugging your house....

@MarmeeMarch No it's likely as the package states. The majority is beef if that's what it says, but what else is in there? dyes? hormones?

Not saying that there is anything wrong with buying meat from retailers, I just choose to limit that as much as I can.
@kyredhead That's fine if you want to do that. And I do see the label it has on the package that lists all the things inside or used. But for my purposes it wont hurt me anymore than inhaling the brake dust from the car that stopped ahead of me. We have an immune system for a reason...
