Meat Eaters - Self Harvest

I came to my attention recently that most people have never harvested their own meat. Whether through hunting or farming, have you ever killed and butchered your own meat?

@MarineBob What's your favorite animal to eat? Do you home butcher your larger game?

@kyredhead favorite IS probably elk, yes I process most of my own.occasionally I'll skirt the laws and buy from a butcher meat that wasn't picked up

@MarineBob Never had elk. In my part of the country (KY) whitetail deer are plentiful. I harvest about 3 per year along with squirrels, turkeys, and fish to feed the family. We raise hogs, but have them butchered, smoked and cured.
