If you want less hate, try fewer insults.

It's pretty hypocritical to claim you're tired of people spreading hate but you throw insults at anyone who disagrees with you. It might not seem like much, but it all contributes to an atmosphere of hate. If you want to understand someone who disagrees with you, stop with the insults. Because that just says right away that you don't view the other person as an equal.

To me it looks like an inability to see any other side, which makes me wonder what they're afraid of.

Of course, there are those who think (mistakenly) that it is witty.

@Mamapolo2016 Couldn't agree more. There are many facets to any issue, and being closed minded is a massive barrier to productive discourse.

There are those comments which are genuinely funny, and will make everyone laugh, but those are few and far between.

If you want to discuss something serious, you've gotta be willing to accept that your own predisposed viewpoint may be inaccurate, or based on bad information, otherwise what is the point of discussing it if you've already made up your mind.

But I certainly understand what you're getting at. Most people don't listen, they're just waiting for their opportunity to speak. If you have that attitude, then you'll miss a lot of what the world and your fellow humans have to offer.
