Small action, huge effect...?

Does anybody else believe a small action can influence someone else's life in a huge way...?

Like pressing a button on a traffic light to cross a road, the time a car spends waiting for you to cross could potentially save their life, or put them right in the middle of a bad accident... just a example.

Does anyone else think this way? or am I just crazy.
