Why can’t people sleep in public?

Like why do we punish those who go homeless? Isn’t that kinda messed up? Like what if you were homeless and really tired. I bet you’d like to take a little nap. We are all wage slaves technically. If you’re not part of the system then you’re against it by default.

Very true. I see homeless people as brave people rebelling against a society that only pretends to love you based on your mechanical function. A superficial and shallow life where we are only given “worth” and “value” based on looks, how obedient we are, how productive we can be, and if we are harmless. Ironically you can’t be too great or people get jealous and want to destroy you. I don’t know how homeless people don’t suicide, that’s why I think they’re rebels who have the will to live; but are fed up of being treated like robots and the superficial nature of things.
@Specialyouare Most of the homeless people I volunteer with aren’t rebelling against anything, they’ve been priced out by obscene housing costs, and or lost a job, were bankrupted by an illness and are on the street by circumstances they’d never have chosen. They don’t want to be homeless, and don’t see it as a political coup. Working people, families with children, elderly people who were never homeless in their lives before. They are very brave, though and would accept any opportunities for housing, if the city would get on the ball.

@riseofthemachine I love you guys on Similar Worlds so much. In my real life people hate when I talk or voice my opinion and I’m having a hard time with that. It feels so good that someone actually likes and understands what I write ❤️ I usually just feel like I don’t belong. Thank you for being a space of belonging and true expression!
