Are you close to your family?

One of my friends decided not to go home for Thanksgiving. I was surprised. She told me it was because she wasn't close to her family, and she didn't want to talk much more in detail about it. I really wonder the reasons why, but feel like I should respect her privacy and not ask her more about it.

@SW-User Same! But I understand that there's lots of reasons not to be close, and maybe even for the better sometimes
