What is something you believed in as a kid that made you feel safe when you were afraid?

I used to be afraid of something on the other side of the shower curtain grabbing me. I would say “army on” and I’d pretend all my favorite heros and movie/cartoon characters surrounded me and kept me safe.

That my dad was as strong as Superman and on the nights he was home our entire little world was safe. 😂

Hiding under the blankets I reserved for when I was angry at one or both parents to ignore them.

Yes, “unhealthy fear” “unhealthy fear” because I learned there are healthy fears about reality and unhealthy ones that aren’t from an actual threat
