Well, the planet has had climate crises in the past, though none of the inhabitants knew about what was happening when it happened.
Something created the Dark Ages, likely a small comet. It had a worldwide impact.
Something killed off the dinosuars, either a large meteor or volcanic eruptions. Or maybe both.
There have also been a handful of ice ages.
The current crisis is real and it's likely due to a combination of population and industry, but there could be other impacts as well.
For those of us who are prepared, it won't matter what others do.

@JoeyFoxx Of course it matters what other people do. You can be prepared for a total collapse, though no matter how you slice it, that would suck no matter how extensive your preparations.
But you're more likely to deal with a long series of much more mundane sort of malaise, and outside of serious wealth there is really no way to truly insulate yourself from it.
