Hmm ! This'll be interesting ! Let's see...

Precocious puberty at 9.
Being a medical 'Guinea-pig' for the next year.
My parents separation and divorce at 10
Having to walk 3 miles to school and back at 11 for 6 years.
Working in a tough neighbourhood in East London at 18.
Getting mugged late at night in a subway tunnel coming home from work one night.
Working voluntarily on a kids summer playscheme 5 years in a row. Gave me the drive to follow a career in social work.
Being one of the few guys working in a children's homes back in the 80's.
Losing my job the first time due to budget cuts.
Meeting the woman i would marry three years later.
Becoming a Dad.
Absorbing physical abuse for many years.
Being beaten unconscious.
Time spent in hospital recovering afterwards.
Re-learning how to speak and move again afterwards.
Re-living the damn thing through therapy for six months afterwards.
Being a sole-carer-single-parent.
Having to go to Crown Court and face questions and lies and destruction of my character from my wife's Barrister for two weeks.
Knowing that she was sent to jail as a result.
Bringing up three children almost single handedly.
Watching my Father lose more and more of his mind until he had nothing left.
Trying to balance being a part-time carer for my Mother while trying to keep a job going where many rely on you to help teens keep their sanity !
