When advertisements conveys realistic expectations...

So great to see the efforts some advertisers are making at setting realistic expectations for both men and women. Very ready to wave goodbye to toxic masculinity along with all the other gender stereotypes.

Toxic masculinity doesn't exist

People need to face the reality someday or the other. Unfortunately, people still believe in this fascination.
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@Neena Maybe people may open their eyes to the truth that we all have flaws and age with time unlike the ads that depict the "perfect masculinity".
Neena · F
@Beatbox34 Yes, it takes a man to be yourself.

@Neena This couldn't have been said in a more better way.

Better late than never i suppose.
Just seems a shame they left it so long and now media is so fragmented any advertising is likely to be seen by a far smaller number these days.
Neena · F
@Picklebobble2 Exactly. Rather the stereotypical norms it highlights another viewpoint - it takes a man to be yourself.

Replacing toxic masculinity with toxic sartorial choices by the looks of it...
Neena · F
@Lhayezee The emphasis on men with ordinary bodies and others who don’t fit tired stereotypes seems like progress for an industry that, a decade ago, featured a shirtless hunk scented with Old Spice. These days, more and more advertisers are telling men they don’t need to be the buffest or most interesting man in the world, just themselves.
Lhayezee · 26-30, F
@Neena progress or just change? We can welcome it or not but there's no reason to suppose it's permanent. Attitudes shift over time. They will again.
Neena · F
@Lhayezee You are absolutely right. Let's hope change is happening for good.
Nevertheless let's appreciate the average looking man in the ad. Whose ever idea it is, it takes guts to pose like that. Often these models go down in noticed.

@Lostandconfused Yes. Woke-washing or humanity hitting traditionally-thought-of men's products?

@bijouxbroussard Indeed it's a cracker of the ad :) Thanks for sharing the video.
#men too
With the advent of such ads men can no more complain about gender inequality..lol
They have equal opportunity to showcase their capabilities.

Advertisement will always be advertisement. The ones who can't be funny will use shortcuts.
Neena · F
@MartinTheFirst You are right.
