I group up in New England (the northeastern most region of America) and there the phrase is used in a gender neutral fashion.

One of my friends down here just said, "I'm not a guy," when I used the phrase this way.

How about where you're from? Neutral or specific?

I use it gender neutral. I would also keep using it if someone asked me not to.

@SW-User Too short for what? Compassion for another soul? Concern for any feelings beyond the self?

@sarabee1995 if using term “you guys” too loosely is dismissing compassion for someone’s soul... then yes. I will appreciate hell.

I’m totally cool if someone corrects a pronoun I used for them. I will comply. But seriously we are getting a little melodramatic for “you guys.”
Agreed. People that are that hypersensitive obviously have not been to the school of hard knocks. They’re in a for a sharp learning curve on a road with a lot of potholes in it. @SW-User

@DukeOfEarle ok, girl, so how sharp was your learning curve?
Case in point: Like Pavlov’s dog, you’ve been triggered. I however am largely amused by what people say or think of me. Opinions are like assholes. Most of them stink. So let’s see what your hypersensitive reply is going to be. @Yulianna
