I'm just playing around on the bobcat piling brush up against and in between a couple of old cabins to be burned on Tuesday. Damn people saying I'd need a big tractor in here, this works just fine for me and only costs fuel
A skid steer is one handy piece of equipment. I use one to pile brush and when burning to roll the outsides into the center. When done everything is burned and I can scoop up the ashes and clean up once everything has burned out and cooled.
Anyone who says a tractor is better than skidsteer has never used either. Skid steer hands down outperforms in every way unless you are plowing the fields or brushhogging
@MarineBob cattails? When I've used a skid to brush I just noticed getting stuck in mud more often and not being well suited to see stumps and rocks before running the deck over them. Most of the hogging I end up doing is for hunting land. Making trails and shooting lanes for the blinds and stands. Skids on wheels work there, but just not as well in the particular situation.
Your's a a lever and peddle set up or a queer steer?
