How do you deal with people who want to talk all day long about boring, trivial things?

Avoid them whenever possible.... wear my earbuds... and if all else fails, "I'm sorry but I'm one of those people that can't concentrate on more than one thing at a time. I need to get this done, but maybe we can talk later."
